The Importance of learning Chinese

At China International we recognise the importance of learning Chinese. China used to be called the sleeping giant. Now, as the world’s fastest growing economy, it is well and truly awake and, according to the BBC, this is the right time to learn Mandarin Chinese: “China’s economy is growing so quickly and becoming so influential in the world’s economy that people cannot afford to ignore it. People who want to be ahead in whatever industry need to think about China and learn Chinese! British exports to China are expected to quadruple by the end of the decade and the British Government wants every school, college and university to be twinned with an equivalent within China within the next 5 years.”

Why learn to speak Chinese?

Mandarin Chinese is spoken by an estimated one in six people on earth and China’s economic rise means the world now has a second language. It is seen as an essential skill for people latching their futures to China’s economic rise, in other words “Mandarin is becoming a common currency”.

It is predicted that people who learn to speak Chinese and English will be the executives of the future.
